OVERVIEW

Corn has a critical need for phosphorus from germination to the 6-leaf stage, where maximum yield potential is determined. The NACHURS Advantage ensures that the corn seedling has adequate available phosphorus in contact with the seed and roots where it can be easily taken up.

This is especially true in today’s production systems where corn is planted earlier into colder and wetter soils. Side-band starters and broadcast applications may not be available for up to 6 weeks.


NACHURS High Yield Product Recommendations


PREMIUM 5 STEP PROGRAM
The following are intended as a general recommendation for all corn production. Adjustments can be made to these recommendations based on geography, environmental conditions, soil type, water availability, etc. Consult your local District Sales Manager and/or Agronomist for detailed specifications based on a more narrow set of circumstances.


EARLY SEASON PROGRAM

1.  At Planting 

  • In-furrow
    1. Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS imPulse®, and/or Rhyzo-Link® 9-15-3 should be used in-furrow at a rate of 4 to 6 gallons/acre. NACHURS K-fuel® can be blended with the above to provide an additional potassium source.
    2. Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS Triple Option® and/or Rhyzo-Link® 3-10-13 should be used in-furrow at a rate of 2 to 4 gallons/acre.
    3. Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS K-flex™, NACHURS K-fuel®, and Rhyzo-Link® 0-0-15 should be added to ammonium polyphosphate (i.e. 10-34-0) or to other NPK solutions at a rate of .5 to 1 gallon/acre.
    4. NACHURS micronutrients (NACHURS® 9% Zn EDTA, NACHURS CornGrow®, NACHURS SoyGrow®, etc.) should be added to the above fertility programs at a rate of 1 to 2 pints/acre for maximum productivity.
  • 2x2
    1. Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS K-flex™, NACHURS K-fuel®, and/or Rhyzo-Link® 0-0-15 should be added to ammonium polyphosphate (i.e. 10-34-0) and/or UAN solutions for 2x2 placement at a rate of 1 gallon to every 8 to 10 gallons of solution.

2.  At Sidedress:

  • Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS K-flex™, NACHURS K-fuel®, and/or Rhyzo-Link® 0-0-15 should be added to UAN solutions for sidedress placement at a rate of 1 gallon to every 8 to 10 gallons of solution.

 

FOLIAR PROGRAM Foliar fertilization and nutrition is not a stand-alone program. It must be used as a key element in a complete fertility program. Foliar applications not only supply needed nutrients through the foliage, it also stimulates the plants ability to take up additional nutrients from the soil. A healthy plant with adequate nutrition (especially K) will be able to tolerate biotic and abiotic stress more efficiently. Foliar nutrition allows for “spoon-feeding” the plant to optimize efficiency and performance. Together, soil applications and foliar applications can work together to increase the plants ability to produce maximum yield.


3.  At Early Foliar:

  • Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS Finish Line® should be applied alone or in conjunction with pesticides (fungicides, herbicides, etc.) at crop stage V4-V6 at a rate of 1 to 2 quarts/acre. A jar test is recommended to check compatibility with pesticides.


4.  At Late Foliar:

  • Products such as (but not limited to) NACHURS SRN®, NACHURS N-Rage Max®, and NACHURS topKicK® should be applied alone or in conjunction with pesticides (fungicides, insecticides, etc.) at crop stage VT-R1 at a rate of 1 to 2 gallons/acre. A jar test is recommended to check compatibility with pesticides.


5.  Post-Harvest:

  • Apply Rhyzo-Link® 0-0-15 with UAN/sulfur containing solutions for broadcast application at a rate of 1 gallon to every 8-10 gallons of solution (with water) to enhance stalk degradation and nutrient release
